When you mentor a girl or young woman you encourage her ambition, support her in setting goals she can achieve and most importantly empower her confidence. Research confirms that quality mentoring relationships have powerful effects on young women’s personal, academic and professional outcomes. 1 in 3 girls and young women will not gain the opportunity to have a mentor and BelEve aims to contribute to closing this gap through the Pathway to Success mentoring. We believe every girl and young woman needs a mentor.
How does it work?
During a year-long mentoring relationship, each mentor will inspire, empower and advise their mentee to think bigger and fulfil their education or career aspirations.
We are passionate about Pathway to Success and committed to creating a platform that delivers outcomes for mentors and mentees. We will provide clear structure and training to maintain quality, momentum and support. The programme will require a 1 year commitment on both sides. Our recommendation is that your connect on-line or off-line at least once a month for at least an hour.
Empowering and equipping young women with skills and knowledge, Pathway to Sucess will give girls the confidence to have an influential voice and reach their full potential. Through bi-monthly skills development workshops the young women will increase their personal skills and gain support to successfully transition from education to work. This will be done by improving their understanding of career opportunities and ensuring they receive a higher quality of work experience in order to make an informed choice for their future education, career and training options.
