Summer is around the corner, which means you’ll have plenty of free time. Why not volunteer for a charitable organisation during those six weeks?
Whether you have a part-time job or just looking for some additional experience to pad out your CV, volunteering can be a great experience. Volunteering gives you new skills and the opportunity of making new friendships as you’ll be working with a wide range of people. And if you make a great impression, you might even hear from them later down the line when they need someone to work with.
By volunteering you’re contributing to a good cause, and the outcome of this is that it should make you feel pretty good about yourself. Even if you get nothing else out of volunteering, the idea that you’re helping in some capacity should make it all worthwhile.
You can volunteer at charities such as UNICEF and The Prince’s Trust.
