We are looking for a Fundraising & Communications Associate

(£25,000 per annum, Full time, 35 hours per week)

As our Fundraising & Communications Associate you will support the Fundraising Trustee to help us sustain and grow our income so that we can continue to support and empower all those who need our services.

You will be joining the charity at an exciting time following a period of growth, which has seen our income, our service capacity, and our volunteers increase.

We are looking for someone who would relish the challenge of helping us take the charity to the next level.

Key responsibilities:

● Advise on fundraising practises as well as providing strategic input in raising funds to meet and surpass fundraising targets

● Identify various income streams to support the BelEve brand

● Lead end-to-end filling of funding bids submitted by BelEve

● Build fundraising strategy, assist in brainstorming and creating new methods to raise funds for BelEve UK.

● Suggest applications be made to suitable grant making trusts

● To liaise with other board members, notably finance and corporate where there’s shared interest and opportunities

● Advise on core / capital / project costs

● Encourage social media links to national campaigns, stewardship of supporters and social media recognition of funding

    Overview of role

    Working closely with the Fundraising Trustee to oversee the Fundraising division.The post holder will support the strategy by delivering on the areas that are needed to ensure the implementations of systems and structures for the sustainable, growth and development of the charity.

    Fundraising and Communication Associate key responsibilities:

    ● To support the fundraising strategy and the communication around it

    ● To research, develop and approach a pipeline of new prospects to support new corporate fundraising income is maximised

    ● To support new and existing relationships with major donors and ambassadors

    ● To deliver on the fundraising strategy, assist in brainstorming, and creating new methods to raise funds for BelEve UK.

    ● Lead end-to-end filling of funding bids submitted by BelEve

    ● Suggest applications be made to suitable grant-making trusts

    ● To work closely with the Fundraising Trustee to research new and existing major donor prospects and create bespoke communications

    ● Manage social media links with national campaigns, stewardship of supporters and social media recognition of funding

    ● Safeguard the good name and values of the Charity; declare any conflict of interest while carrying out the duties of a Fundraising and Comms Associate

    ● Work closely with the wider charity to enhance the digital fundraising capabilities and adapt activities as part of the fundraising strategy

    ● Use any specific skills, knowledge or experience you have to help the Board of Trustees, namely the Fundraising Trustee, reach sound decisions.

    ● Undertake any other reasonable duties as may be required

    Person Specification

    ● Experience of working in a fundraising role

    ● Experience in researching and working with social media and ambassadors

    ● Proven track record of researching and winning new income opportunities from scratch

    ● Demonstrable experience in researching and approaching new charity supporters to develop fundraising opportunities

    ● A commitment to the vision, mission and core principles of BelEve UK

    ● An empathetic approach and awareness of the role of the youth sector and challenges that girls and young women are facing, particularly those from disadvantaged communities

    ● A good understanding of the social, economic and political context in which BelEve UK works

    ● Experience in liaising with senior staff and trustees

    ● The ability and willingness to represent the charity at internal and external events and functions

    ● The confidence and ability to provide support to the management team


    ● Knowledge of general fundraising

    ● General knowledge of communications strategies and tactics

    ● Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office


    The post is currently remote though some travel to the London office may be required.
