The most transformative corporate partnerships are not built on cheques. They are built on proximity.
At BelEve, we have always believed that meaningful corporate engagement goes beyond financial support; it is a strategic investment in the future of women in leadership. Our partnership with Kerv is proof of what becomes possible when purpose-aligned collaboration replaces transactional sponsorship.
How the Partnership Works
Since September 2024, Kerv has partnered with BelEve through a £10,000 strategic investment combined with deep, hands-on engagement. This has included employee mentoring, co-designed skills workshops, reverse mentoring opportunities, and one-day shadowing placements in tech for young women aged 16–22.
33 Kerv employees stepped forward not as donors, but as mentors, facilitators, and advocates. That level of involvement signals something important: this is a partnership built on shared accountability, not optics.
The Impact: What the Data Shows
Across the partnership period, 86 girls and young women engaged in mentoring and immersive tech career experiences. The outcomes are measurable and significant:
+33% increase in leadership confidence, From 53% to 86%, BelEve Impact Data 2024
+31% increase in employability readiness, From 49% to 80%, BelEve Impact Data 2024
+35% increase in career aspiration clarity, From 41% to 76% , BelEve Impact Data 2024
96% reported higher aspirations for leadership or career progression. BelEve Impact Data 2024
Three participants secured shadowing placements at Kerv, moving from classroom to corridor in a sector that has historically excluded them.
Beyond the Numbers: The Human Story
Data tells part of the story. The girls themselves tell the rest.
“Because of this programme, I applied for a summer placement in tech. Now, I know I can belong in this space.” Jade, 16
“I have become more confident in myself and the goals I want to set in the future.” Kanyin, Mentee
“It’s such a great programme, and I hope that Kerv/BelEve continue to work together.” Sinead Kanlioglu, Kerv Mentor
One participant began the programme disengaged and resistant. Through consistent mentoring, structured accountability, and direct workplace exposure, she became an active contributor and confident presenter by the final phase. That transformation is the heart of this partnership.
The Business Case: What Kerv Gained
Purpose-led partnerships not only transform communities. They strengthen organisations. For Kerv, the returns have been tangible:
- 94% of volunteers reported an increased sense of purpose
- Inclusive leadership capability strengthened through reverse mentoring
- A visible, diverse early-stage talent pipeline established
- ESG commitments are actively demonstrated, not just reported
This collaboration also directly aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Decent Work), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Conclusion
Kerv has demonstrated that meaningful corporate partnership is not about visibility it is about proximity, presence, and shared accountability. When organisations give time and expertise, they gain the talent, purpose, and inclusive culture that sustains long-term performance.
This is what Give to Gain looks like in practice. And it is only the beginning.
