As we step into 2025, BelEve is thrilled to welcome you to a year filled with promise, growth, and empowerment. This January, we are celebrating National Mentoring Month—a time to highlight the transformative impact of mentorship and the incredible relationships that shape the futures of young women across the UK.

Mentoring is at the heart of BelEve’s mission, and this month serves as a reminder of the vital role mentors and mentees play in creating a more equitable and inspiring world.

What is National Mentoring Month?

National Mentoring Month is a global celebration of the power of mentoring. It shines a spotlight on the individuals and organisations driving positive change through mentoring relationships. At BelEve, it’s an opportunity to honour our mentors, mentees, and supporters who continue to uplift and inspire young women to achieve their fullest potential.

Celebrating Key Moments This January

January is packed with significant dates that underscore the importance of mentoring:

  • I Am a Mentor Day (7 January):
Mentors are the backbone of our mission, offering guidance, support, and inspiration. On this day, we celebrate their incredible contributions and encourage others to join the movement.
  • Thank Your Mentor Day (14 January):
Gratitude is powerful. This day is dedicated to showing appreciation to mentors who have made a difference in our lives.
  • International Mentoring Day (17 January):
Mentoring has a global impact, connecting individuals across cultures and communities. This day celebrates mentoring as a universal force for good.
  • Youth Voice Day (23 January):
At BelEve, we believe in amplifying the voices of young women. This day highlights the importance of listening to and empowering our mentees.
  • Thank Your Mentee Day (27 January):
Mentoring is a two-way journey. On this day, we reflect on how mentees inspire and challenge mentors to grow.

Why Mentoring Matters

The impact of mentoring is undeniable. Research shows that:

  • Mentored young women are 92% more likely to volunteer in their communities.
  • 74% of adults mentored as youth say their mentor significantly contributed to their success.
  • Mentoring improves education outcomes, leadership development, and mental well-being.

Mentoring is not just about guiding someone—it’s about forming meaningful connections that empower individuals to overcome challenges, achieve their goals, and thrive.
