International Women’s Day is a celebration of the achievements and progress of women worldwide. It is a day to recognise and honor all women’s strength, courage, and resilience throughout history. Today, we pay tribute to powerful black women who have empowered us with their inspirational stories and actions. From civil rights activists to business owners, these remarkable women have made significant contributions to society that should be celebrated. By recognising their achievements, we can continue to strive for gender equality and empower future generations of female leaders.

BelEve Leads with Equity

This year, BelEve is leading International Womens Month with equity. Equity is a concept that is often misunderstood and undervalued. It is more than just equality, it means having the same access to resources and opportunities regardless of who you are or where you come from. Leading with equity means creating an environment where everyone has the same chance to succeed and reach their full potential. It requires creating policies, systems, and practices that are fair for all people regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, age, ability, or any other factor. Equity also requires recognising the unique needs of different communities and providing them with the resources they need to thrive. Leading with equity means understanding that not everyone starts from the same place and working towards creating a level playing field for everyone. That’s what we are striving for throughout March and beyond.

International Women’s Day is a special day to celebrate the achievements of women around the world and to recognise their struggles for equal rights and opportunities. It is a reminder that we still have so much work to do in order to achieve true gender equality.

The day serves as an important reminder of how far we have come, but also how far we still need to go in order for all women, regardless of race, ethnicity, or socio-economic background, to receive the same opportunities and respect as men.

International Women’s Day is a time for us all to reflect on the progress made toward gender equality, celebrate our successes, and commit ourselves to continue this progress into the future. We must use this day as an opportunity to focus on what needs to be done in order for us all – men and women alike – to live in a world where everyone has equal rights and opportunities.
